KeyboardTyping is an important skill in the modern world. The faster you can type the faster you can write code, write articles, chat, and do a number of other important things online.

Here is a student in America with amazing typing speed. If you are in school and youtube is blocked you can watch this video here instead.

We will be spending about 10 to 15 minutes at the start of some of our classes practicing our touch typing.

First of all I would like you to go to www.rankmytyping.com. Do the solo test here and record your beginning words per minute. Tell Mr Ross what your score was and he will record it. This is your baseline score, then we can see how your typing improves over the year.

When you come to class and you are not sure what to do please start practicing your typing at some of these typing tutor sites. Remember you may get speed by doing the typing your own way at first but the way to truly fast typing is to use the correct finger pathways so please practice this as you go.
