Year 9 Startup Documents

My name is Max Ross and I will be the Dean for Y9 in 2012. I will then follow your child through to Y13 in 2016. My role is to provide pastoral support and guidance to our Y9 students and I encourage you to contact me with concerns, requests or ideas. The best way to get in contact with me is via email, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or to phone the school on 07 8665916.

The 2012 school year starts with an orientation and team-building day. The orientation day for year nine students is Tuesday 31st January. Further details of this day are linked to here. On the first day we set up the students’ access to the computer systems, introduce them to their teachers, take a tour of the school and our fantastic resources and spend the day on team building activities so that the students can begin to form friendships and relationships with each other and their teachers.

Classes start the following day, at 8:45 sharp on Wednesday the 1st of February and we have a tradition at Mercury Bay Area School that learning programmes will start immediately. Students are required to be at school in full uniform and with all their stationary and learning equipment so that the learning programmes can start immediately.

I look forward to working with you, your child and their teachers to make your child's time at Mercury Bay Area School as productive, safe, fun and full of wonderful learning opportunities as possible.

Warm regards Max Ross.
